LOONA seems to be on the verge of disbanding just 5 years after their debut.

Recently, four of the LOONA members (HeeJin, Kim Lip, JinSoul, and Choerry) won the case against their agency Blockberry Creative (BBC) in an application for an injunction to suspend the validity of their exclusive contract. The five other members (HaSeul, YeoJin, Yves, Go Won, and Olivia Hye) who filed the same lawsuit lost.

As a result of the lawsuit, the four members’ contract with BBC has been suspended. It’s said they had the contract with the same conditions as Chuu, who was the first to leave the team. However, the contracts with the five who lost the case underwent provisions a year or two ago, which the court didn’t find to be “unfair.”

Yves updated fans by writing, “Every day was mentally exhausting and painful.” She continued, “I have no idea how long or how much more painful it would be… But I’m going to do everything I can do.”

The conflict between LOONA and BBC first surfaced when Chuu was kicked off the team last year. However, unlike how the label blamed the artist’s behavior problems such as power abuse as the reason for her removal from the team, the fact that a majority of LOONA members filed for a lawsuit against the agency has put a damper on BBC’s plan to resume LOONA’s activities as an 11-member group.

With more members terminating their contracts with BBC, it’s even unclear if LOONA, a project group with an investment of 10 billion won (about $8 million), can continue on as a group.
